The 2025 Audi A5 is developed on a new platform called 'Premium Platform Combustion (PPC)'. This architecture allows the new A5 to embrace a hybrid MHEV system that mixes ICE and a 48-volt electric motor. This hybrid system helps save fuel at city speeds and at very low parking or maneuvering speeds. Additionally, the base variant is equipped with a mild-hybrid system that gets a smaller battery and a 24 bhp power generator. This mild-hybrid helps the car to move in a complete EV mode during parking or at low city speeds.
Meanwhile, the engine options on the new 2025 Audi A5 and the S5 include a 2.0L turbo-petrol 148 bhp motor (mild-hybrid) for the base variant, a Quattro (AWD) 2.0L turbo-petrol 201 bhp motor for the mid-variants, and a 3.0L TFSI V6 turbo-petrol 362 bhp motor for the S5 variant. All of these engine options are mated to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox with paddle shifters for quick overtakes and a fun driving experience.
