2025 Volvo XC90 SUV: Design and Feature Updates
The major update on the new model is the revised styling. The front fascia, in particular, has been redesigned to match the Volvo's latest design, especially the new EX90, an EV version of the XC90. A closer look at the front shows the new diagonal brushed aluminum finished grille and new sharp LED headlights. The iconic Thor's hammer LED DRLs are still present but with a revised touch of sharpness. Similarly, the front bumper has been revised with LED lights and new aero-dams. While the side profile has not changed much, apart from the new set of multi-spoke alloy wheels, the rear design now gets redesigned LED lights and a slight makeover for the bumper.
Volvo has been known for its classy appeal, and while maintaining it, the interiors have been enhanced as well. Gone is the 9-inch touchscreen, which is now replaced by a bigger 11.2-inch screen that also gets the latest UI, which Volvo customers love due to its user-friendliness. Volvo has also updated the dashboard layout and the overall finishing on the AC vents and the centre console with an additional cupholder. The wireless charging pad has also been moved to a better ergonomic position, thus, separating it from the main storage area. Not to mention, the top-spec will also get the Bowers and Wilkins High Fidelity audio system.

2025 Volvo XC90 SUV: Engine and Hardware Updates
Volvo will continue offering the new XC90 with mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid petrol engine options. These will include the B5 and B6 with a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that gets a mild-hybrid 48V electric motor. The plug-in-hybrid engine option will also continue to be offered but in a de-tuned state of power. It now generates 455PS of peak power. The de-tuning has been done to increase the efficiency of the car. Volvo claims that the plug-in-hybrid can go beyond 800km on a single tank of fuel, with covering up to 70km in pure electric mode.
Another change to the hardware is the reworked suspension. Volvo has updated the suspension with its trademarked Volvo Frequency Damping technology. The VFD or frequency damping comprises autonomously adjusting dampers that sense the changing road conditions. This leads to a subtle and stable ride quality, especially when the car glides from a good surface to a bad patch.
