2026 Genesis GV70 - design and feature updates
Design tweaked
Revealed during the LA Auto Show'24, the new Genesis GV70 2026 model has debuted with a refreshed design. It has been on sale in the global markets for a long period, witnessing no major upgrades, until now. The mild uplift of design includes a new big and wider grille with a new twin-spoke mesh style. The iconic LED headlights now get micro-lens array highlights, while the bumper is also slightly reshaped with new air dams. Genesis is offering new shapes of 19- and 21-inch alloy wheels. Similarly, the rear design has a new bumper and reworked taillights. Overall, its design has not lost the old-school premium SUV charm.
Interiors refreshed
On the inside, Genesis has updated the overall theme of the cabin. A new flat-bottom steering wheel, a big 27-inch connected curved display, and a redesigned center console are the key highlights of its interiors. GV70 update uses brushed aluminum all around the cabin, while its sports variant gets carbon fiber highlights. The wireless charging pad has been moved forward to a more ergonomic position for the front passengers. The leather upholstery is also upgraded with new Nappa-leather use.
Features upgraded
The new 27-inch connected screen is an OLED unit that acts as an infotainment display as well as an instrument console display. For music lovers, it gets a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen system with wireless phone connectivity and wireless Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay mirroring. Moreover, the voice assist features have been updated for better recognition of voice commands. It also gets over-the-air updates for the infotainment system.
Safety-wise, Genesis is said to have updated its lane-assist for better readability of the nearby traffic environment, while the remote parking can now assist in navigating to diagonal parking spots. The steering wheel can now detect whether the driver is holding it with both hands; if not then it will release a light shake and beep through the system.

Same engines
For the ICE version, the new GV70 continues using the current engine options. It is sold with the options of two engines - a 2.5L turbo-petrol engine making 300 bhp of power with a mileage of up to 11.9 km/l, and a 3.5L V6 engine churning out 375 bhp of peak power output with a mileage of up to 10.2 km/l.
New suspension
The new Genesis GV70 2026 also gets a few hardware changes. One of the most prominent is the new suspension, which Genesis calls 'Highway Body Motion Control'. This system is said to be more comfortable and it will provide better confidence to the driver while driving at high speeds. It works by stabilizing the nose and rear pitching of the SUV over the undulations.

Electric Genesis G70 update details
Design, interiors, and features revamped
Along with the ICE version, Genesis has also updated the electric GV70. It now gets a redesigned front bumper and a new grille that looks like a guitar pick, which is obviously covered for better aerodynamics. The lights and other details on it are identical to the ICE model, but, the charging port has been repositioned for better ergonomics. The charging port now has a heating function for easy charging during winter and a surrounding light for better visibility in the dark. Additionally, the alloy wheels are aerodynamic and different in design from the outgoing electric GV70.
New battery and more range
The electric G70 has used a 77.4kWh battery pack until now. But, the new model has replaced it with a bigger 84kWh battery pack. Although Genesis did not reveal more details about this new battery and electric motors, however, it was told that the new G70 will be able to fetch up to 380 km of real-world driving range from it. The performance figures are also said to have improved.
2026 Genesis G70 - UAE launch date, price, rivals
For now, the main attack regions for the Genesis will be the US and Korean markets. However, Genesis has good brand reach in the UAE as well. We can assume safely that the new Genesis G70 2026 model could launch in Dubai in the latter half of the next year. The design and feature updates are likely to increase its price in the UAE by a few thousand. The rivals of the Genesis G70 in UAE are the Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7, and Audi Q8.
