Best Commercial Vehicles in UAE 2021-22: Price, Specifications, Mileage, Colors, Images
The United Arab Emirates is one of the world’s leading hubs for transportation of goods and logistics. With loads of money on the line and with so much cargo to move around, you need lots of commercial vehicles on the road to ensure that the whole system go about like clockwork. Furthermore, the commercial vehicle business is quite the profitable one for automakers, so you can rest assured that countries such as the UAE have players from all parts of the globe covering this particular segment.
While the segment in itself is a vast one, in this article, we will be taking a look at some of the best commercial vehicles in UAE for 2021-22. Of course, that does not imply that the ones that have been left out are not good or popular. It is just that these ones usually end up doing more business for their respective brands in this part of the world.

Commercial vehicles come in various sizes, ranging from those that can easily fit in a small parking lot to those that will require several meters of empty space all around. While buses and trucks are very an important part of this segment, in this article, we will focus our attention on commercial vehicles in the UAE that are a little bit more compact.
As you can see, the list that we have compiled has brands representing the United States, Japan, South Korea, and mainland Europe as well. Moreover, many of the candidates that are mentioned above also have both passenger & cargo versions on sale in the UAE. This means that they can be bought by fleet operators and/or by shipping and logistics companies as cargo haulers. Such kind of flexibility is a big boon in the commercial vehicles business, as one can imagine.
In the UAE, these commercial vehicles can be found powered by either petrol or diesel engines, with some manufacturers offering both manual and automatic options as well for the transmission. However, to keep costs low, many models usually come with a manual base variant and with barely any modern amenities. Obviously, higher variants do get more standard kit, but ultimate driver luxury isn’t the primary focus with such vehicles. As always, feel free to browse Cars24 for good offers on certified used cars in Sharjah or second-hand cars in Dubai.
Renault Dokker Van
Perhaps one of the smallest commercial vehicles in its segment in the UAE, the Renault Dokker Van was introduced back in 2012 in the global market. And while it does have a passenger-only MPV variant, it is the Panel Van that actually sees more buyers and sells more units. Brand-new Renault vehicles in the UAE can be purchased from Arabian Automobiles in Dubai and Al Masaood Automobiles in Abu Dhabi.
In the UAE, the Renault Dokker Van is priced at around AED 46,000. In the meantime, Cars24 has some great deals if you want to buy used Renault cars in Dubai or verified pre-owned cars in Abu Dhabi. Unlike many other commercial vehicles, the Dokker Van is only available in one particular variant, though there are 5 exterior colors to choose from. Namely, there is Glacier White, Pearl Black, Comet grey, Mercury, and Navy Blue.
In terms of its exterior dimensions, the Renault Dokker Van comes in at 4,363mm in length, 1,751mm in width, and an overall height of 1,809mm. The Dokker Van also has a wheelbase of 2810mm, while its usable payload rating stands at 750 kg or a maximum of 3,900 liters. Over the years since its arrival, the Dokker Van hasn’t gone through many cosmetic changes on the outside. The front fascia features a wide grille with a large brand logo in the middle and a chrome strip on top. The halogen headlamps are sizeable yet simple in their design, whilst the plastic bumper looks pretty ordinary but does come with fog lamps.
Moving along the sides, the Dokker Van’s shape is not all boxy. There’s the requisite tall roof (but it is slightly curved), while the doors come with lower protecting cladding, and there are even some character lines and flared wheel arches with 15-inch steelies. As expected, there is one functional sliding door on the side of the Dokker Van for front cargo access. Meanwhile, the rear has two side-hinged doors, a high-mounted stop light, standard halogen tail lamps, loads of black plastic about the place, and a slim rear bumper with static reflectors.
In the UAE, the Renault Dokker Van is offered with two front seats, which includes the removable co-driver’s seat as well. The interior design is expectedly simple and utilitarian but car-like (somewhat). Of course, most of the features are pretty basic and material quality is equally as basic. While none of it feels high-grade, they are all mostly hard-wearing and durable. The dual-tone cabin also comes with features such as several cubby spaces, plus optional features like power windows, power adjustable door mirrors, cruise control, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat & steering wheel. There is even an audio system with Bluetooth, USB, Aux, and radio compatibility, plus manual air-conditioning.
The safety blanket on the Renault Dokker Van encompasses items such as anti-lock brakes with emergency brake assist, dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and rear parking sensors. Enabling the Renault Dokker Van is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 85hp and 128Nm of maximum torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission available, with the front-wheel-drive Dokker’s top speed pegged at just under 160 kmph.

Peugeot Partner
The Peugeot Partner has its closest relative in the Citroen Berlingo – the two essentially share the same PSA EMP2 platform. Currently in its third generation, the Partner nameplate has been around since the mid-1990s. The recent iteration hit the market in 2018, and in the UAE, the Peugeot Partner is sold in ‘Short’ and ‘Long’ versions. Peugeot has its main showroom in Abu Dhabi, under the ownership of Omeir Bin Youssef & Sons. Meanwhile, the price of the Peugeot Partner in the UAE is in the ballpark of 55,000 dirhams.
On the other hand, if you want to buy used cars in Umm Al Quwain or second-hand cars in Ras Al Khaimah, then scout Cars24 for some great deals. Commercial buyers can have their Peugeot Partner painted in one of 4 exterior colors: Arctic Steel, Banquise White, Onyx Black, and Platinium Grey. In its ‘Short’ form, the Partner measures 4,403mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,785mm. Meanwhile, in its ‘Long’ avatar, the Partner’s scale goes up to 4,753mm in length and 2,975mm in wheelbase.
As for its other dimensions, all versions of the Peugeot Partner come in at 1,848mm in width and 1,849mm in height. Depending on the version you choose, the maximum payload capacity of the Partner will range between 650 kg and 1,000 kg (or up to 4,400 liters). Being a typical panel van, one can load items either from the sliding door on the side, or from the main rear doors. When it comes to its exterior design, the Peugeot Partner looks decent enough, especially from the front.
The mostly-black plastic adorned front of the Partner bears the Peugeot emblem on the grille and segmented halogen headlights with a central daytime-running light. Below all this is a plastic bumper with stacked intakes and some fake side-vent design, plus halogen fog lamps as well. The Peugeot Partner also brings with it regular 16-inch steel wheels (with no hub caps), stylized front & rear fenders, black-plastic door handles and thick protective cladding.
At the back of the Peugeot Partner, there are large side-hinged doors, vertical tail lamps, and a black plastic rear bumper. The exterior of the Partner seems a touch more intimidating than the Renault Dokker Van, with the styling being slightly more modern and pleasing to the eye (from the front, at least). On the inside, the most eye-catching visual aspect is the design and shape of the steering wheel. In typical Peugeot fashion, the steering wheel looks fancy and quirky, while pod-type instrument cluster looks good and serves its purpose well.
There are a few shiny bits of trim (especially on the steering wheel), but for the most part, the cabin is occupied by hard but well put-together plastics. The Partner gets dashboard-integrated cupholders on either end, whilst general stowage is not really a matter of concern in here. Customers can get the Peugeot Partner with features like cruise control, a multifunctional steering wheel, a digital MID screen, power windows, power door locks, electrically adjustable door mirrors, dual front airbags, ABS, stability control, and rear parking sensors.
Depending on your requirement, the Peugeot Partner can be had with either a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol or 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine. The former puts out 110hp with 150Nm of torque, whilst the oil burner is good for 92hp and 230Nm of peak torque. Both come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and drive the front wheels only. The petrol variant of the Partner can hit 100 kmph in 11.5 seconds and a top speed of around 170 kmph.

Mitsubishi L200
Priced from around 55,000 dirhams, the Mitsubishi L200 is one of the most common and best-forming commercial vehicles in the UAE. Known as the Triton in other parts of the world and launched back in 2015, the current generation of the Mitsubishi L200 has been in existence since 2015. In the United Arab Emirates, the L200 is sold exclusively by Al Habtoor Motors. It is arguably one of the most affordable pickup trucks in the region.
However, Cars24 does have many cheaper used Mitsubishi cars in Ajman and many more second-hand cars in Abu Dhabi. When it comes to its size, the Mitsubishi L200 measures in at 5,300mm in length, 1,815mm in width, 1,795mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,000mm. And depending on the version chosen, the L200’s cargo-hauling capacity can go up to 1,080 kg.
In the UAE, the Mitsubishi L200 can be painted in at least one of four colors: Blue, Orange, Silver, and White. On the design front, the L200 comes with Mitsubishi’s “Dynamic Shield” grille with shiny chrome inserts, slender headlamps, and bumper-integrated fog lamps plus a functional skid plate. The pickup truck can also be had with 18-inch alloy wheels, a chrome rear bumper, and vertically-stacked clear lens tail lamps.
The Mitsubishi L200 is available in the region in Single Cab and Double Cab versions, the latter offering a more usable passenger compartment. Being more of a utilitarian vehicle, the interior of the L200 pickup truck feels pretty basic, especially in its commercial avatar. And as expected, much of the plastics are low-rent and feel unrefined, but the overall build is pretty decent. Moreover, all the controls are dead-easy to use and ergonomics are also a non-issue.
As far as its safety equipment is concerned, the Mitsubishi L200 comes with items such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, and Active Stability and Traction Control. Furthermore, the features list also includes keyless entry, power windows, a height adjustable driver’s seat, a manual air-conditioning system, a two-DIN audio system with CD player, USB connectivity & 4 speakers, among a few others.
The Mitsubishi L200 sold in the UAE comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 126hp and 194Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as default, with power going to the rear or all four wheels. The L200’s top speed is 170 kmph, and it can hit 100 kmph in around 11 seconds.

Isuzu D-Max
Primarily sold by Genavco in Abu Dhabi, the Isuzu D-Max is based on the brand’s MU-X SUV platform. This robust pickup truck has a price tag of around 65,000 dirhams in the UAE, and is currently in its third iteration since its first unveil in the early-2000s. The D-Max range is one of the most successful commercial vehicles in the region, and is liked by several buyers even in the private segment.
In the meantime, Cars24 has a vast inventory of well-priced and certified used cars for sale in Dubai. The standard variant of the Isuzu D-Max measures 5,265mm in length, 1,870mm in width, 1,790mm in height, and boasts a wheelbase of 3,125mm. Meanwhile, the pickup truck’s maximum payload capacity is 1,320 kg. In the UAE, buyers can have their D-Max painted in shades such as Black, Grey, Red, Silver, and White.
As for its updated exterior, the D-Max now comes with a new front fascia with a new black grille, new headlamps with even LED DRLs, a skid plate, and a revised bumper with air intakes. Higher trim levels of the D-Max can be had with 18-inch alloy rims with enlarged wheel arches, whilst there are also fixed running boards for easier cabin access. Meanwhile, the rear of the D-Max comes with updated tail lamps and a slightly revised bumper.
The interior of the Isuzu D-Max may not boast high-quality materials and great fit-and-finish, but it certainly works quite well. Similarly, ergonomics and practicality are a non-issue, with seating comfort being fairly livable. Noise insulation is not the best-in-class, though the view out of the driver’s seat is good enough on all sides. At the high-end, the Isuzu D-Max gets safety-related kit such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX anchor points, and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera.
Again, depending on the trim level chosen, the Isuzu D-Max can get quite a few modern features. However, the entry-level variants will likely only have features such as keyless entry, a height adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable door mirrors, power windows, a multifunctional steering wheel with audio controls, manually-operated air-conditioning, and a standard audio system with two speakers. The D-Max is offered with two turbo-diesel powerplants in the UAE – a 1.9-liter four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter four-cylinder. The base motor produces 163hp with 360Nm, and can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Nissan Navara
The Nissan Navara is mainly retailed by Arabian Automobiles Company and Al Masaood Automobiles in the UAE. Priced from 76,650 dirhams, the Navara is available in 5 different variants. While it has been on sale since the 1980s, the outgoing Nissan Navara has been modernized and is even the donor vehicle for the flashier Mercedes-Benz X-Class. Moreover, this Japanese pickup truck has gone on to become one of the most in-demand commercial vehicles in the country.
If you are interested, you can buy used Nissan cars in Dubai or shop for certified used cars in Ras Al Khaimah on Cars24. Meanwhile, a brand-new Nissan Navara is available in exterior colors such as Black, Grey, White, Dark Brown, Orange, and Red Brisk. As for its exterior dimensions, the Navara measures in at 5,336mm in length, 1,850mm in width, and 1,808mm in height. Furthermore, it has a wheelbase of 3,150mm and a maximum payload capacity of around 1,100 kg.
The exterior styling of the new Nissan Navara is not all that utilitarian as some other commercial pickup trucks. Depending on which variant you pick, the Navara will come with the brand’s famous “V-Motion” front grille, an all-new front bumper with chrome inserts, fog lamps, and a skid plate, and also projector headlamps with daytime-running lights. Along the sides, the Navara scores chrome door handles, chrome mirror caps, handy roof rails, fixed side steps, and flared wheel arches with 16-inch rims.
Meanwhile, the rear of the Navara comes with a redesigned tailgate, a heavy-duty rear bumper with chrome finish, and large tail lamps. Of course, the commercial variants do not look as fancy as their private-buyer counterparts, but the design remains pretty much the same. On the inside, the Nissan Navara gets a redesigned instrument panel with a new multi-information display, a new multifunction steering wheel, revised front seats with better-quality fabrics, and also some faux metallic trim on the dashboard and door pads.
The interior may look newer and a touch more modern, but the cabin of the commercial variants of the Navara feel understandably basic. As a whole, the Nissan Navara can be had with safety nannies such as ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System, Hill Start Assist with Hill Descent Control, and Tire Pressure Monitoring. Meanwhile, the pickup’s features include things like keyless entry, manual air-conditioning, power steering, power windows, rear parking sensors, driver’s seat-height adjustment, and a two-speaker audio system with Bluetooth and AUX support.
The Nissan Navara is fitted as standard with a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that comes in two power outputs. In its entry-level avatar, this motor manages to make 158hp with 233Nm of torque and gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, the higher-output unit turns up with 168hp and 244Nm of torque and can also be had with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The top speed of the Navara is just shy of 170 kmph, while reaching the ton-mark takes a smidge under 12 seconds.

Toyota Hilux
Available exclusively through Al Futtaim Motors, the Toyota Hilux is arguably the best-selling commercial pickup truck in the UAE. Starting from just below 78,000 dirhams, the outgoing Hilux came to the region back in 2020. However, the model in itself has been around since the 1960s in many international markets, and even in this part of the world, commands quite a lot of admiration from buyers in its respective segment.
Of course, if go via Cars24, you can buy used Toyota cars in Sharjah (or any other emirate) for far less money. When we talk about its size, the new Toyota Hilux usually comes in at 5,325mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,815mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,085mm. And depending on the configuration, the Hilux’s maximum cargo capacity can be up to 1,085 kg. While base variants may not come in many colors, higher ones can be painted in the likes of DK Blue, Attitude Black, White Pearl, Emotional Red 2, Nebula Blue, or Orange.
Toyota has redesigned the exterior of the current-gen Hilux so as to keep it looking fresh and relevant. Therefore, it now comes with a completely revised front bumper, a new and more muscular front grille, new projector headlights with integrated DRLs, and a front bash plate. Other noticeable revisions come in the form of new wheel designs, wider wheel arches, new body graphics, and a mildly tweaked rear portion. Overall, this new Hilux looks better and more modern than its predecessor.
Along with the exterior, Toyota has also updated the interior of the Hilux. It now comes with new seat fabrics, a completely overhauled dashboard and center console design, better-quality materials, improved fit & finish, a new & more informative gauge cluster, and even some shinier plastic trim for a better overall feel and ambience. Of course, this being a rugged commercial vehicle at heart, this cabin does play host to a lot of hard-wearing and scratchy plastic bits as well.
The new Toyota Hilux does come with a lot of new safety features as well, though the base variants may not receive all of it. Having said that, this pickup truck can be fitted with equipment such as 7 airbags, Trailer Sway Control, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control System, ABS with EBD & Brake Assist, and Hill-start Assist Control. Meanwhile, the some of the Hilux’s convenience features include keyless entry, split-folding rear seats with an integrated cupholder, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear parking sensors, cruise control, a 4-speaker audio system with AUX and USB support, and manual air-conditioning as standard.
In the UAE, the new Toyota Hilux is offered with 3 engine options. There is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 164hp and 244Nm of torque. Then there is also a 4.0-liter V6 petrol motor that churns out 235hp and 376Nm of torque. Finally, the Hilux range adds a 2.4-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that is good for 147hp and 399Nm of torque. Meanwhile, gearbox options include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic. At best (and with some tailwind), the Toyota Hilux can achieve a top speed of 180 kmph.

Hyundai H1
The Hyundai H1 may not be the most prominent commercial vehicle on the roads of the UAE, but it is undoubtedly one of the best. A brand-new H1 can be bought from one of several dealerships operated by the Juma Al Majid Group, with the starting price of a Hyundai H1 pegged at around 81,000 dirhams. The H1 is categorized as a Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), and was introduced back in 1997. It is now in its second generation, with the most recent facelift launched sometime in 2018 or so.
If you are looking for old cars for sale in Ajman or pre-owned cars in Fujairah, then you must check out Cars24. Coming back to the Hyundai H1, it can be bought either as a passenger transport (with up to 12 seats) or as a Panel Van (with three front seats). Moreover, the H1 can measure up to 5,150mm in length, 1,920mm in width, and be up to 1,925mm tall. The van has an overall wheelbase comes in at 3200mm, while its maximum cargo capacity is just shy of 5,200 liters.
In the UAE market, the new Hyundai H1 is available in 6 exterior colors: Creamy White, Gray, Tan Brown, Ocean View, Timeless Black, and Hyper Metallic Silver. With the facelift, Hyundai has revamped the H1 and made it a more pleasing design to look at (for a commercial van, at least). The redesigned front fascia now comes with stylish projector headlamps with daytime-running lights, a contemporary-looking front grille with chrome surrounds, plus a broader bumper with better detailing and sportier lower apron with glossy inserts.
The side profile of the new Hyundai H1 hasn’t been changed by much, though not everything is the same as before. This new iteration gets protruding fenders, new 16-inch wheel designs, and an overall cleaner-looking facade. Meanwhile, the sliding doors in the passenger variants can be opened from both sides – whereas the Panel version only has the standard single side door. The rear of the H1 comes with new and better designed tail lamps, along with restyled dual-hinged rear doors.
Hyundai has worked on improving the interior of the new H1, with the passenger variants feeling more luxurious and spacious than ever before. There are even rotating middle-row seats, better cushioning & support, plus central armrests and cupholders. Of course, there is no dearth of storage pockets or cubbies to store your many nick-knacks. Also, better than before is the quality of build and materials, while the design of the dashboard and center console looks far superior to the old H1.
The new Hyundai H1 does offer more in terms of its features list as well. Some of the highlights on its brochure include items such as keyless entry, electrically-operated & auto-folding door mirrors, dual sunroof, automatic climate control system, cruise control, a cooled glovebox, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, leather seat upholstery, driver’s seat-height adjustment, and an audio system with Bluetooth, AUX, CD, and MP3 support. Of course, the Panel Van version of the H1 will not get many of these higher-end features.
On the safety front, the new Hyundai H1 gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Tire Pressure Monitor, and rear parking sensors. Under the hood of the Hyundai H1 sits a 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that dishes out 173hp and 228Nm of peak torque. It sends this to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Equipped with the former, the H1 will take 17.3 seconds to hit 100 kmph, while top speed lies between 165 kmph and 180 kmph.

Considered among the best Light Commercial Vehicles in the country, the Nissan Urvan is an extremely popular choice for buyers in the segment. It has been in production for six generations, spanning over 50 years. The latest avatar was released in 2012, and in the UAE, is available as a microbus or a panel van, with up to 9 different variants on offer. The Nissan Urvan starts from around 83,500 dirhams, and is sold by the Arabian Automobiles Company.
Cars24 currently has some great deals if you want to buy used Nissan cars in Sharjah or any other emirate. Unlike some of its rivals, the Nissan Urvan is primarily only available in 3 exterior colors that include White, Silver, and Grey. In terms of its exterior dimensions, the Urvan can be up to 5,230mm long, 1,880mm wide, and 2,285mm tall. The Urvan’s wheelbase can be up to 2,940mm, while its maximum cargo capacity can be up to 1,530 kg or 9,200 liters.
With its recent facelift, Nissan gave the Urvan some much-needed exterior upgrades – albeit not very significant ones. The face now dons the Japanese brand’s “V-Motion” front grille that is flanked by large halogen headlamps on both sides. Moreover, the protruding black plastic bumper looks more aggressive than before and even has some fake air intakes. As for the side facade, much of what you see has been carried over from the old model. The Urvan is equipped with 15-inch steel wheels as standard, which do look small for a vehicle this size.
Meanwhile, there is only one sliding door on the Nissan Urvan, no matter which variant you pick. At the back of the new Urvan is also pretty similar to the model it replaces. However, Nissan has bright in some new taillights and a slightly tweaked rear bumper. Climbing into the cabin of the Urvan, it is visible that Nissan has changed a few things. For starters, the design of the steering wheel and instrument cluster is new. Then there is also the updated multi-functional display for the driver, which now provides more information as well.
In general, the build quality is pretty decent, though the grey/black interior theme and some sharp edges feel cheap. However, there won’t be any complaints when it comes to the overall usability of this cabin and the sheer amount of space that it offers. In its Panel Van avatar, the Urvan’s cargo space is truly cavernous and well designed. As for some of its features, the Nissan Urvan ropes in items such as keyless entry, front power windows, a 2-DIN audio system with two speakers and support for AUX & CD, anti-lock brakes with Vehicle Dynamic Control, and dual front airbags.
Powering the Nissan Urvan is a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that kicks out 147hp and 213Nm of maximum torque. The motor can be paired with a traditional 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic gearbox, both of which spin the rear wheels. The Urvan’s top whack is in the neighborhood of 165 kmph, while it 0 to 100 kmph time is somewhere around 16 seconds or so.

Toyota Hiace
If there is one commercial vehicle that is almost like a landmark on the roads of this region, especially when it comes to LCVs, then it has to be the Toyota Hiace. The Hiace is currently in its sixth-generation iteration (launched in 2019) and has price tag which starts at AED 103,000. As with other Toyota models, the Hiace is also sold exclusively by Al Futtaim Motors in the UAE, and is offered in 3 different variants. This van is almost impossible to miss if you are in the UAE.
On a side note, if you want to buy used Toyota cars in Abu Dhabi, then browse Cars24 for some great deals. As for the Hiace, it is available in Commuter and Panel Van forms, both of which are equally successful. Just like the Urvan, the Toyota Hiace is only sold with 3 exterior color options – there is Beige Metallic, Silver Mica Metallic, and White. Meanwhile, the new Hiace can measure 5,915mm in length, 1,950mm in width, and be as much as 2,280mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 3,860mm and an average cargo capacity of around 1,170 kg.
The new Toyota Hiace looks far better and urbane than its aging predecessor. It gets an all-new face that also brings with it new headlamps, a revised front grille, and a beefier bumper with faux intakes on the sides. Like most vans in its segment, the Hiace too comes with a single sliding door on the side for access to the passenger compartment (Commuter) or load bay (Panel Van). Some of the Hiace’s other exterior details include 16-inch steel wheels, stylized wheel arches, massive tail lamps, and a thick chrome bar on the tailgate.
Just like the exterior, the interior of the new Toyota Hiace has also been suitably uplifted. It now sports a brand-new 3-spoke steering wheel, a new instrument panel with an upgraded MID, a thoroughly revised dashboard and door design, better-quality switchgear, improved cabin insulation and seat fabrics. As you can imagine, there is more than enough space in the new Hiace’s cabin to seat up to 13 people, or to carry well over a ton of cargo in the ridiculously large loading bay.
In terms of its convenience features, the Toyota Hiace can be had with a multi-functional steering wheel with tilt & telescopic adjustment, front power windows, front & rear AC, and a 2-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, CD, Aux, and USB compatibility. The new Hiace also comes loaded with most of the basic safety features that include ABS with Brake Assist, dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Control with Traction Control, Hill Start Assist Control, Emergency Stop Signal, and Tire Inflation pressure Warning.
In the UAE, the Toyota Hiace is available with 3 engines: a 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol, a 3.5-litter V6 petrol, and a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel. The 2.7-liter petrol motor in the new Hiace develops 164hp with 244Nm of torque, whilst the larger V6 gasoline engine puts out 278hp and 351Nm of torque. The former comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, whereas the V6 can be had with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Finally, the diesel engine in the Hiace produces 174hp and 419Nm of torque. This one comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Ford Transit
The Ford Transit is one of the longest-running Light Commercial Vehicles on the planet – having started its journey back in 1965. In its fourth-generation iteration now, the Transit is sold by either Al Tayer Motors or Premier Motors in the UAE. There are well over half-a-dozen variants on offer, and prices start somewhere around 115,000 dirhams. The Ford Transit is definitely not the most ubiquitous of all LCVs, but it is, however, quite a good one.
In the meantime, if you want to buy used Ford cars in Dubai, check out Cars24 for some well-priced examples. As mentioned above, the Ford Transit is available in several formats – the two most common are Standard Wheelbase (SWB) and Long Wheelbase (LWB). In its SWB form, the Transit gets a wheelbase of 3,300mm. It has an overall length of 5,531mm, width of 2,474mm (with mirrors), and a height of up to 2,771mm. Meanwhile, the LWB variant boasts a wheelbase of 3,750mm. Its overall length is 6704mm, width is 2474mm (with mirrors), and height can be up to 2,778mm.
The maximum cargo capacity if the Transit van is an incredible 15,100 liters or 1,914 kg! Customers of the Ford Transit can choose from one of the following colors: Moondust Silver, Frozen White, Blazer Blue, Diffused Silver, or Kapoor Red. In terms of its exterior design and dimensions, it is plenty clear that the Transit is a large vehicle. Unlike all the other commercial vehicles on this list so far, this van is undeniably the biggest and most intimidating. The front is dominated by a large hexagonal grille with the ‘Ford’ badge front & center, huge headlamps with LED running elements, and a chunky but sculpted bumper with sleek fog lamp housings.
The tall and intimidating side profile of the Ford Transit sees the inclusion of dinner-plate-size wing mirrors, flared fenders, 16-inch heavy-duty steel wheels, and thick lower body cladding. The equally tall and impressive rear of the Transit sports a high-set LED stop light, massive side-hinged doors, a black bumper with an integrated step, and vertically-arranged clear lens tail lamps. As is usual with such a vehicle, the Ford Transit gets a sliding door on just one side.
The interior of the Ford Transit naturally feels huge and airy. Furthermore, the high seating position, coupled with the supportive seats make for a good combination whilst on the open road. Ford has equipped this cabin with multiple cubby holes and storage areas, while there is even some glossy plastic on the dashboard for a better look & feel. The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, easy-to-use climate controls, and well-placed buttons makes this a pretty well-sorted interior.
The Ford Transit gets safety features like two airbags, ABS with Emergency Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, Rollover Mitigation, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and Hill Launch Assist among others. It also comes with power adjustable and power-folding door mirrors, reach & rake adjustment for the steering wheel, manual air-conditioning, a 4-speaker audio system with support for Bluetooth and USB, a multi-information display, a rearview camera, and multiple power ports.
The Ford Transit is offered primarily with a 3.7-liter naturally-aspirated V6 petrol engine in the UAE. This motor comes in with 274hp and 352Nm of peak torque, powering the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Due to its sheer size and bulk, the Ford Transit is not quick on its feet. Having said that, it can still manage a top speed of around 190 kmph.

Conclusion
With so much cargo to move, the United Arab Emirates is one of the premier spots in the world to find loads of commercial vehicles. The country has almost all of the world’s major logistics and shipping companies, which means that there will always be a need for vehicles that can accommodate the ever-growing demand of freight.
Therefore, it is no surprise to find multiple large automakers offering some of their best commercial vehicles to the discerning UAE customer. Of course, as you might have noticed on this list, these vehicles come in all sizes and specifications. At the lower end, there are models such as the Renault Dokker and Peugeot Partner, both of which are unarguably capable for the job at hand. As for the four pickup trucks on this list, their role in this market is irreplaceable. They truly are some of the best all-around commercial vehicles in the UAE.
Then there are the big ones such as the H1, Urvan, Hiace, and of course, the biggest of them all – the Ford Transit. These come in so many different variants and powertrain options, that it is almost impossible for a buyer to not find what they are looking for. If you need to haul cargo or a dozen people or so with relative ease and comfort, then these 10 commercial vehicles should do the job just fine.

Nissan Urvan
