Dubai RTA Rail Bus project - complete details
As a part of Dubai RTA's mission to complete the goal of achieving 25 per cent autonomous driving by 2030, the Rail Bus project has been launched. Dubai RTA is also working to achieve UAE's Net Zero Strategy by 2050. Hence, it has collaborated with the American startup Rail Bus.
The Dubai Rail Bus is a smart and autonomous public transport method that is based on an innovative bus coach that travels via high-rise pathways. The unique fact about the Dubai Rail Bus is that it will be made by using a 3D printer.
Due to the 3D printing technology, it will cost up to 30 per cent less than the other conventional transport projects. Moreover, it also helps in reducing the efforts and time required to build, along with reducing carbon emissions.
A Rail Bus coach is a spacious unit that can easily accommodate 40 passengers in one go, with 22 comfort seats. The dimensions of the Dubai Rail Bus are 11.5 meters in length and 2.9 meters in height. It can reach a top speed of 100 km/h quickly, thus offering fast and efficient travelling options.
Dubai RTA has also officially claimed that it will develop dedicated routes for the Dubai Rail Bus project. These routes will pass through the crucial and important areas of the city.

Dubai RTA - expanding travelling modes
In addition to the Dubai Rail Bus project, the Dubai RTA is also developing its metro network. Last year in December, the Dubai RTA signed a contract of 20.5 billion dirhams with a Turkey-based development group to build the 30-kilometer Blue Line metro.
Dubai RTA is also developing a new 64-kilometre tram line across the city. This tram line will also cross paths with the upcoming Dubai Rail Bus project routes. Dubai RTA is also working on expanding the number of Tram stations from 11 to 25. Hence, people will get multiple options of self-operated transport options in the future.
