Dubai RTA opens new bridge - travel time to reduce
The new two-lane bridge is the second bridge in Phase 4 of the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project; aimed to reduce the travel time and traffic congestion in the city. The first bridge of Phase 4 was opened in December 2024. Dubai RTA aims at opening the third bridge by the second quarter of this year.
Phase 4 constitutes a total of 4 bridges that will cumulatively reduce traffic congestion by reducing the travel time. The combined capacity of Phase 4 upon completion will be 19,400 vehicles per hour across all lanes. Additionally, the total length of Phase 4 of this corridor will be 3.1 kilometers.
The recently opened second bridge is a two-lane flyover that has been constructed and opened from the intersection of Al Mina Street and Sheikh Rashid Road to the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Sheikh Rashid Road. It is 605 meters in length and the individual capacity of this bridge stands at 3,200 vehicles per hour.
