Interior detailing involves deep cleaning of upholstery, carpets and interior surfaces, making  sure no little corner is overlooked.

Detailing your Car’s Interiors at Home

With a little time & effort, you can detail your interiors at home like a pro. It may take up your  afternoon, but is worth the satisfaction of knowing that every nook & cranny of your car is clean.  It also saves you a few bucks since car detailing is ofcourse not cheap.

What you’ll need:

1. Interior Detailer Spray / Cleaning solution in a spray bottle

2. Microfibre Towels

3. Cleaning Brushes

4. Car Upholstery Cleaner or Carpet Cleaner

5. Vacuum

6. Soap & Water

7. Deodorizer

Step 1: Do your prep work

Get rid of wrappers, papers, bottles, empty cups, and other clutter from the car. If there are  personal items, take them out and store them away safely. Wipe down surfaces to remove the  first layer of dust. Remove mats and seat covers and set aside for cleaning. Clean out your  ashtray, spray it with a little bit of the cleaning solution & let it soak. This can help get rid of the  tobacco smell.

Step 2: Vacuum up

Dust, pet hair, food crumbs - over time your car collects a lot of them. So, before we start  scrubbing, run a vacuum over the floor mats & seats. This can dislodge any loose crumbs & dirt  and prep your interiors for cleaning.

Step 3: Clean interior parts, panels & vents

Start by cleaning all the interior parts and panels of your vehicle. For this job, use a microfiber  towel and an interior detailer spray, cleaning solution or glass cleaner. Pay close attention to  high-touch areas like door handles and armrests. Don't forget the seatbelts and use your

brushes to get dust out of air vents.

Step 4: Clean the seats.

Spray your seats with an upholstery cleaner or fabric cleaner and wipe them down. Note that if  you have leather seats you’ll need to use a separate leather cleaner.

Step 5: Scrub your floor mats & carpet

If possible, remove your floor mats and wash them down with soap and water. And let dry  before putting them back. If they are carpet floor mats use a carpet cleaner and scrub to get  stains & dirt out.

Step 6: Clean the glass.

Next, use your glass cleaner to wash the inside of all your car’s windows and be mindful of  getting the edges. Do not forget the windshield and rear window.

Step 7: Neutralize odors

For that final touch, use a car freshener to get your car smelling brand new.

Having cleaned and disinfected your car's interior, you can go about your day enjoying the  feeling of driving a brand new car!
