Lexus ES 300h facelift: design and feature updates
The Lexus ES 300 has been a beautiful car ever since it was introduced. Its fluidic design with the renowned Lexus grille and plush elements like brushed aluminum highlights, all make it look elegant and luxurious. With the facelift, displayed for the Chinese market, Lexus has revised its overall design for a more striking appeal.
The new L-shaped matrix-LED headlights and new DRLs give a fresh feel to the front look. Similarly, the large air dams on the front bumper converge in an aggressive shape towards the front grille. The side profile is more or less unchanged but the alloy wheels have been slightly redesigned. The rear profile gets a reworked bumper design and new connected LED lights with an angular pattern. The cabin of the updated model gets a larger 14.0-inch touchscreen. Additionally, Lexus has integrated the HVAC controls on the infotainment screen. Also, the cabin theme now uses a dark maroon shade of pure leather in contrast with wooden highlights on the dashboard and steering wheel and black leather trim panels. Lexus has not changed the engine or hardware on the updated ES 300h. It continues using the same tried-tested and efficient 2.5L hybrid engine. The maximum power output generated by it is 215 bhp and 221 Nm of peak torque. It uses an e-CVT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The claimed mileage of the Lexus ES 300h facelift is 24.1 km/l.
