The latest spy images come from Thailand, which also happens to be Toyota's top market in Asia. The test model is seen with a new camouflaged front design. It gets a new rectangular grille, broader bumper, sharp LED DRLs, and new headlights embedded on the bumper. It also featured new off-set machined off-road spec alloy wheels in matte black colour.

The bonnet design is flatter than the current model, while the side fenders have been reshaped as well. The test model also featured a covered rear design. We suspect that it will get a new set of LED taillights and a revised bumper design.

Feature-wise, the new model is expected to get a new instrument console, bigger touchscreen, and better ergonomics. It will also have the latest features like a wireless charging pad, buttons for a shift-on-fly 4WD system, and more.

Online reports also suggest that the diesel engine option will feature a new mild-hybrid MHEV technology. It is an idle start/stop feature that helps in saving fuel at city speeds. However, there is no information about the specifications of the petrol engine or whether it'll be revised.

Toyota Hilux facelift - UAE launch time, price, rivals

Toyota Hilux facelift

The latest images indicate that the Hilux facelift model is nearly production-ready. However, it won't be before mid-2025 that the UAE car market will witness the debut of the new Hilux. Thailand market will be the first one to receive the launch of the new Hilux model; followed by other prominent markets like the UAE.

The current-gen Toyota Hilux is priced from AED 115,900 (excluding VAT) in UAE. The facelift model will be priced higher than this because of the new design, better features, and increased refinement.

The upcoming Toyota Hilux facelift will compete with the Ford Ranger and the upcoming Kia Tasman in UAE.

Our verdict

The Toyota Hilux facelift model is expected to bring a fresh flair of technology and new design to the old workhorse. The current generation model of Hilux has been present since 2015 without any major updates. The new facelift of the Hilux will change the stagnancy of the current model as per the requirements of modern car customers.
