Volvo ES90 EV: design, interiors, and features
As per Volvo, the ES90 EV will be based on the Volvo EX90's platform. Called the SPA2 platform, it is a dedicated electric architecture that provides efficiency and safety. The length of the ES90 will be 4.99 meters, while its wheelbase will be 3.1 meters, thus, offering large space for interiors. As far as the design goes, we assume that it will use key elements like the 'Thor-hammer' LED headlights and the iconic Volvo front grille. The rear design will be identical to the S90 sedan to some extent.
On the inside, the design will be similar to the EX90 but the focus will be more on the rear seat comfort. Volvo has confirmed that the ES90 will be equipped with the latest Supertech software for the infotainment system. This system gets 'over-the-air' updates, allowing multiple updates. Moreover, the rear seat passengers could get individual infotainment screens with OTA updates as well.
Being the flagship EV of Volvo, the ES90 will be a fully loaded car. Features like voice assist, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone connectivity and charging, ventilated and heated seats with memory functions, and more will be offered as standard. Volvo's safety is unquestionable, but the ES90 will elevate the safety quotient further. It will get the top-notch ADAS suite, offering adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind spot assist, pedestrian safety like airbags, and other features.

Volvo ES90 EV: battery, range, performance
The upcoming Volvo ES90 EV will feature two different drivetrain packs - a single motor and a dual motor. The single motor will use a rear-wheel drive configuration and a 111kWh battery, producing 402bhp of peak power and churning 600 km of maximum range. The dual motor setup will have an all-wheel drive configuration, producing a peak power output of 502bhp. The battery pack and drivetrain options on the ES90 EV will be identical to the EX90, with slight tuning changes as per the body changes. The performance figures of the ES90 are currently unknown.
Volvo ES90 EV: UAE launch timeline, price, and rivals
As of now, Volvo has revealed that the ES90 EV will debut in March 2025. It will be a global launch, which will follow the introduction of the car to different regions subsequently. UAE being a prime market for Volvo might witness the launch of the ES90 somewhere by mid-2025. As it will be positioned above the EX90, we can safely assume that its starting price in the UAE will be around AED 300,000. Once launched, it will rival the Mercedes-Benz EQS and BMW i7 in UAE.

Our verdict
UAE has emerged as a prime market for Volvo over the years. The introduction of electric vehicles by Volvo has added to the portfolio appeal among UAE buyers. In fact, the EX90 EV has received a good response from buyers. On the other hand, the upcoming ES90 will offer more luxury and better performance for sedan lovers, when it gets launched in the UAE next year.
