Nissan has taken the cover off the upcoming third-generation Leaf model. The 2026 Nissan Leaf EV will be sold as an SUV-crossover, and it will also debut in the UAE.

2026 Nissan Leaf EV - Design and features
The upcoming Nissan Leaf electric is based on the CMF-EV platform jointly developed by Renault and Nissan. The same platform is also featured on the Renault 5 model.
Following the latest design philosophy of Nissan, the upcoming Leaf EV has evolved into a coupe-crossover, unlike the outgoing model which was a hatchback.
While Nissan has not revealed the complete car, its front and side profile shows that it will have a sharp-looking and futuristic outlook.
On the front, it features a closed grille with sharp wraparound LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs, which are connected through an LED lightbar on the nose.
Meanwhile, its side profile gets a sloping roof design with flush-type door handles and dual-tone 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels.
The charging port has been embedded on the front-right fender for ease of use.

Battery, range, specs, and charging time
Although Nissan has not revealed the battery and electric motor details about the new Leaf, the only known detail is that it will get a driving range of more than 586 km per charge.
As per the Nissan officials, the primary target while developing the new Leaf EV was the highway usability and long-range.
Along with the beautiful design, Nissan has also kept focus on the practicality of the new model.
Meanwhile, the new aerodynamic shape has curated a way for a low coefficient of drag of 0.25Cd, thus making it more efficient, as per the company.
As it is based on the CMF-EV architecture, the upcoming Leaf EV will support rapid charging along with the AC charging. However, the charging time is yet to be determined.

2026 Nissan Leaf EV - UAE launch details
While the Leaf EV has just made its global reveal, Nissan will surely bring the new model to the UAE.
Meanwhile, the launch timelines for the prominent markets like the US, Europe and UAE have not been revealed.
However, Nissan has an internal target of launching the new Leaf model in Europe by the end of this year.
We assume that the electric Leaf crossover will be launched in UAE in the second half of 2026.
